Abby specializes in working with multi-disciplinary systems for public health and human services. Specifically, she specializes in areas of mental health, substance use, family and child welfare, homelessness, sociodemographic disparities, and intimate partner violence prevention. She has more than eight years of experience in evaluation, data management, program development, and direct service with individuals, families, and groups. Abby’s passion is to unite qualitative data collection that emphasizes individual, community, and cultural voices, with empirical research and evidence-based approaches in systemic research and literature reviews.

Abby earned a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Iowa and has held her LMSW since 2021. Prior to joining the IPRC, she did research and program evaluation with the University of Iowa National Center for Family Centered Practice and the Iowa Consortium on Substance Abuse and worked on a special project with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (child welfare), called Zero to Three Infant Toddlers Court Team in a coordinator role. Abby also has history in case management in education settings, specifically targeting socioeconomic, social, community, and academic disparities in her district.
