Research and Practice Action Teams (RPATs)
Our Research and Practice Action Teams (RPATs) are topical areas of focus that help us organize our broad and diverse areas of interest. Each team has a UI Research Team Lead and a Practice Team Lead.
The RPATs encourage and strengthen collaboration between research and practice partners, identify new UI IPRC partners, seek input from key external organizations, foster growth in research and practice, and address emerging issues. Team activities incorporate cross-cutting themes, including health equity, research translation, research science innovations, and public health practice.

As a CDC Injury Control Research Center (ICRC), we are on the scientific frontline conducting cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research on the causes, outcomes, and prevention of injuries and violence.
Rural injuries and violence
Rural injuries and violence are understudied in public health and present unique opportunities for research.
