Ann has a Masters of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a BA in Journalism from the University of Iowa. She has coordinated research projects at the Institute for Health Research and Policy at UIC and in the Pediatric Dentistry Department at the University of Iowa. In addition to a brief time as a newspaper reporter in Iowa, Ann has worked overseas overseeing communications at an international NGO that advocates for human rights.
Her role includes disseminating injury research findings to practitioners, researcher, policy makers, and the public through publications, outreach activities, and website/social media channels. Ann was a policy fellow with the Safe States Alliance in 2017-2018 and is co-chair of the Communications Committee of the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR).
